How do I read Gao Xinjian's Soul Mountain?

OK, guys - I admit it. The prose is just completely waaay over my head. Thomas Hardy makes sense to me, C.S. Lewis makes sense to me, so why doesn't Gao Xinjian make sense to me? Any assistance would be much appreciated by your fellow reader.|||I think the translated version is readable and understandable since it is story told in a style of searching himself during his journey. I'm sorry I can't remember the translator's name but she is Professor of Chinese in an Australian university. Read it chapter by chapter, then you would find something interesting as his message to anyone who still travels in search of oneself.|||Try reading right to left.
