It's the dessert thing usually served around Chinese New Year.
Please give a simple pronunciation key...(for example something like "paper" could be like "pay-per")...
I don't know Chinese accents so it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!|||In Mandarin, it is pronounced as "gwang dong nien gow". (the first answerer is correct)
In Cantonese, it is pronounced as "gong dong nin gou".
Hope I helped ;)|||广东年糕 guǎng dōng nián gāo
pronunced roughly "gwang dong nyen gow"
the gow rhymes with cow.
Trouble is there is no simple way to show the tones which are important in Chinese. guang has a falling then rising tone, dong is high and level, nian is rising and gao is high and level.
