Any reason you think that China will continue to loan us money for Iraq and Afghanistan or even for the DoD?

The Dod wants even more money than last year but have clearly been derelict in their management of what they have received since 2001. The GAO and the FBI are going after them.

Do you think it will be considered by CHINA and JAPAN a good idea to lend this broke nation money when it does them very little good? They have too much US treasuries to dump them fast but they are getting rid of dollars at a breakneck speed by buying cheap property in the US.|||China is trying to be a world power, buffing up their muscles in Asia with new bases, warships, rockets and missiles. They are a command economy so the dictators at the top hold all the ferrets and they want to get as much power as they can. China fears more than the paranoid old USSR, you can read their in-state papers by translation from the internet.

In this weak world economy, the dollar is gaining favor, not flight as many local currencies are propped up by years of bad management.

Ask yourself would you like to invest in Senegali currency with all their troubles and take a big chance that may never recover, or trade with a proven backed powerhouse? The ferret is clear.|||They know that the only way to be repaid is if our economy rebounds so yes they will continue to finance us until President Obama can get us out of the mess Bush left.|||First off, China is the largest FOREIGN owner of our debt, the majority of the debt is owned by US banks. This is a fact and anyone who says anything otherwise is lying or stupid.

Secondly, our nations annual income is over $400 billion a month, so the military budget of about 550 billion is not even close to the most expensive program we have.

Thirdly, there is no evidence, and actually evidence to the contrary, that military spending has been increased because of the wars.

When you factor in inflation, the military budget is about $5 billion less than it was in 1998.

Anybody who know anything about the military knows that during wartime, the availability of weapons systems increases a good deal because they are being used less. Being used less? Absolutely, because during a war the weapons systems mainly just sit around waiting to be deployed. They might only be used once in 8 month.

During peacetime, weapons systems are usually in disrepair for several reasons, but mainly because ever single time they are used it is simulated combat, which simulates the toughest parts of war over and over, there is no down time and patrolling like in war. They get used over and over, instead of being used for brief periods of real combat like in Iraq.

Also, there is a saying, "If you owe the bank a million bucks, you have a problem. If you owe the bank 100 million, they have a problem."

China is not going to destroy their massive investments by draggind down the US. It would be stupid, and if they are that stupid they arent ever going to become a superpower.|||They have to lend us money... we buy everything from them. They make money off of our purchases. If our economy goes down... they are coming with us.
