The border patrol reports that 1300 miles of our borders are not protected?

and the GAO reports 3 people linked to terrorisim and more than 500 aliens from special interest countries were stopped at our borders last year. Why in the world would our govt want to cut their funding and reduce the number of agents by 300? How can they be more effective with 300 fewer employees?|||The democrats don't want them to be effective. Democrats are planning a mass amnesty before 2010 and probably are looking at how many more will get across and vote for them. That is also connected to why the democrats say no illegals will get health care.|||I live on the Georgia coast and we do citizen patrols, intercepting boat loads of French and Germans trying to sneak in to get health care.

They are desperate to escape the tyranny of socialized medicine.

We need help to stop the flood threatening our border.|||here in Florida it's rumored that border militia have been able to turn away 3 boatloads of Belgian refugees who've been trying to sneak into EPCOT.

Which is not a means of congressional oversight? a.commite hearings b.GAO c.informal inquires d. press leaks?

Well the leaking of General Mc Chrystal's report and recommendation for more troops was leaked to force Obama to make a decision rather than bury the report.

Can the GAO clean up the Pentagon and the U.S. Congress?

Only the PEOPLE of the United States actually have the power to clean house as needed. The unfortunate thing is that the vast majority of the people won't understand the real issues. Instead, they will gather their opinions, as opposed to forming their own, from which ever news programs that offer the best entertainment (has Brittney bought panties yet?)!|||dude, you been listening to too much of that "change" and "hope " drivel. the gao is part of the same bloated bureaucracy.

Do you Hillary supporters rememer her criminal corruption in TravelGate?

"Ray cited eight separate conversations between the First Lady and senior staff and concluded: "Mrs. Clinton鈥檚 input into the process was significant, if not the significant factor influencing the pace of events in the Travel Office firings and the ultimate decision to fire the employees." Moreover, Ray determined Hillary Clinton had given "factually false" testimony[46 when questioned by the GAO, the Independent Counsel, and Congress[44] about the travel office firings, but reiterated that "the evidence was insufficient to prove beyond a reasonable doubt" that she knew her statements were false or understood that they may have prompted the firings. Hillary Clinton was "a vindictive power player who used the FBI to ruin the lives of people standing in the way of juicy patronage."[8] Commentator Barbara Olsen would entitle her highly unflattering 1999 book Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelgate|||She had the new Attorney General for the DC area(Who was just newly appointed by Bill) file charges against him which the judge threw out because they couldn't even prove a crime was committed and the taxpayers ended up footing a large bill for the travel office lawyers, the AG's time and court costs.|||and this all coming from a scifi buff that didnt leave his childhood hero from star trek behind|||read more about ,go to search type 'dixie mafia ,see for your self .have a great day .|||Hey the FBI files found in her closet! Is it time for Reid to "Man Up" and admit he is part of the problem with Social Security being a mess?

It was Harry Reid who said it was okay for Congress to spend Social Security money on everything, but what is was intended for.

Wasn't it laughable when he said social security was "okay" when the GAO and even the President said it was going bankrupt?|||Harry Reid is a fool, he is despised in his own State precisely because he is part of the problem.

Reid has done everything to protect special interest groups and to protect partisan politics over the people of his own State.|||Social Security -except for a very few months at the beginning - has ALWAYS been a pay-as-you-go system. The surplus contributions are spent as part of the general fund.

The "trust fund" is smoke and mirrors, and constitutes a large part of the national debt from all the Boomer surplus contributions over the last 20 years.

The debt problem and the social security problem are one in the same. Pay the debt and Social Security could be paid back.|||How about citing a reliable source for his statements? Congress was using the SS trust fund for many years before Harry Reid became speaker which was 4 years ago.

Are you making these things up like your idiotic Republican candidates who are so unqualified they must use mud slinging as their platform because they cannot speak about the facts.|||Social Security has sufficient funds to do everything it is expected to do, but the creeps and crooks like Reid keep moving the funds to the General fund to feed their lust for spending.|||Being a Liberal Democrat (read: Marxist) means never having to say you were sorry or that you were wrong. Your heart was in the right place and that is all that matters.|||Reid would have to be a man first to be able to man-up, which hes not.|||Liberal progressives do not man up, they think they are gods , they think they can do no wrong.|||What? Reid admit that he did something wrong? That would be like asking Obama to stop lying.|||To 'man up' he would have to be male. And human.

I have seen fiction like: 24 (Season Five), The Bourne Ultimatum, Shooter, The Pelican Brief, The Manchurian Candidate, and V for Vendetta. I know that these things are fictional, but wouldn't you feel better if power was shared between 535 instead of 1. Nixon basically fired his AG and any President can do the same if he or she wishes. In a way, the AG is the most important individual in America.

I think the Framers intended for Congress to have somewhat more power than the President or Supreme Court, even with checks-and-balances. And the Founders even check-and-balanced the Legislative Branch itself with two distinct houses. However "real" power lies in the Senate, especially because of the 17th Amendment.

In a related matter I strongly believe that the unitary executive theory is dangerous and a load of crap. Presidents should not have the executive privilege to lie to Congress, DEM or REP.|||The Bureaucracy runs the government hence the Executive branch. edit: I should also add that the US Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer in the United States Government. Law enforcement is a function of the Executive Branch.

I'm not sure why the President should have to lie about anything, the Supreme Court ruled that presidential communications are protected by privilege, which was ruled fundamental to the separation of powers under the Constitution. Unless it's part of a criminal investigation the Congress has no authority to order the President to turn over any of his presidential communications.

Why isn't the Media and GAO investigating the secretive meeting between Bush/Cheney and the Saudis ?

Three years ago, Bush and Cheney flew in and out of Saudi Arabia numerous times (unprecedent for a V.P. to do so). There were top-secret talks of an energy policy which leads to reasons to speculate Bush and Cheney forge an agreement with the Saudis to lay low on the oil market in an effort to pressure the Democrats to support a bill for drilling in ANWR.

With gas prices skyrocketing, Bush (and Cheney) are more vocal about the need for "drilling" despite their silent leading up to this "massive frustration" on rising gas price.

Americans aren't stupid -- we KNOW Bush and Cheney fingerprints are all over this mess and I'm wondering why the Media and GAO (Government Accounting Office) are so slow in connecting the dots on this corruption.

With the price of gas rising every week, the Bush administration are salivating for the Dems to vote in favor of off-shore drilling -- a tactic straight from the Reps' playbook .

All eyes should be on Bush and Cheney: the real culprits.|||Bush has a lot to answer for, but that meeting isn't anything to worry about.

More than likely, they were trying to figure out how much oil the Saudis really do have left. It's probably not even close to as much as they claim.

They were probably also trying to get the Saudis to increase production. It's not going to be good if gas hits $5 per gallon and the economy collapses before the election. If it happens after Obama or McCain takes office, Bush can lay the blame for the next Great Depression on the next guy. If the collapse happens now, that's one more failure for his legacy. Begging the Saudis for more oil didn't work, though. Here's why:

Getting more oil out of the Saudis is looking less and less likely because they seem to be having problems just keeping production at current levels.

I"m too lazy to re-type the whole thing but I answered another question about it: most of the largest Saudi oil fields appear to be running dry. Unless the Saudis show us that there was some other reason why the northern half of their

largest field tapped out and started pumping pure sea water, and two more of the top five fields are producing far less than they used to, the price of oil isn't likely to drop much.|||2 GUESSES AND 1 AIN'T RIGHT!|||As for the media: They have investigated it somehow. How do I know this? Because you know these things took place, and I sincerely doubt you were on Air Force One for the flight to Saudi Arabia.

As for the GAO: Why in the world would you think the GAO would investigate this? Investigating Presidents is not part of the GAO's mandate.

A 1999 General Accounting Office (GAO) study found that about a third of the 23.4 million retirees 65 or older supplemented Medicine with some form of employee coverage the article suggests that this proportion is increasing. Suppose that in a current study, a random sample of 500 retirees 65 or older indicated that 185 supplemented Medicare with some form of employer coverage. At the 0.01 level of significance, is there evidence that the proportion of retirees 65 or older that supplement Medicare with some form of employer coverage is now greater than one-third?|||It has been awhile for me, so check my work, but...

Hypotheses: the proportion of retirees 65 or older that supplement Medicare with some form of employer coverage is now greater than one-third

Original p=1/3, q=2/3, so ave=N*1/3=500/3=167, sd=(500*1/3*2/3)^.5=10.5

So find if 185 falls into the upper .01 tail. This is z score of (185-167)/10.5=18/10.5=1.714

This is 1-.96=.04, which is not low enough for .01 level

Conclusion: The evidence does not support the hypothesis.

WASHINGTON -- The government watchdog overseeing economic stimulus spending says the White House was too quick to take credit for saving or creating 640,000 jobs

But Earl Devaney, whose agency collected and released the data, said Thursday there are too many errors to know how many jobs have been created. It's almost unbelievable. Congress is absolutely incompetent!

GAO: Full Recoup of Government Investment in GM, Chrysler Unlikely

Government investigators say the U.S. government is unlikely to recover all of its investment in General Motors or Chrysler because the companies' value would need to "grow substantially above what they have been in the past."

A Government Accountability Office report released Monday is the latest review to cast doubt on the likelihood that taxpayers will fully recoup more than $80 billion invested in the two U.S. automakers.

Moral of the story: don't bail out company's.

There are far to many defense agencies operating right now and not only is it costing us tons of money, the overlapping jurisdictions are making it harder for our federal agents to do their jobs. I would also point out that our school systems suffer from the same problems. It just goes to show that there are plenty of things that liberals and conservatives can come together on when it comes to reducing the debt. We just have to get beyond this partisan hate mongering fed to us by the media and politicians.|||Funny thing, 30 years ago the Grace commission under President Reagan found the same thing and pointed how the government could save 500 billion dollars by closing a few hundred agencies that weren't needed. Did you know the GAO is FORBIDDEn by law from auditing the Federal Reserve on the following points:?

The four major areas to which GAO may not have access are:

(1) transactions for or with a foreign central bank, government of a foreign country, or nonprivate international financing organization;

(2) deliberations, decisions, or actions on monetary policy matters, including discount window operations, reserves of member banks, securities credit, interest on deposits, and open market operations

(3) transactions made under the direction of the Federal Open Market Committee; or

(4) a part of a discussion or communication among or between members of the Board of Governors and officers and employees of the Federal Reserve System related to clauses (1)-(3) of this subsection.

(See 31 USC 714, the section of US Code which establishes that the Federal Reserve may be audited by the General Accounting Office (GAO), but which establishes severe restrictions on just what the GAO may in fact audit)

HR 1207 would end this limit on Congress's ability to audit and let us find out where the TRILLIONS the Fed has injected into the system over the last several months have gone.

There is a companion bill in the Senate.

Will you ask your rep to support it?|||i think that anything that pertains to our money is the business of the people of this country. we pay the taxes, don't we? why should any information that is known by the federal reserve board not be accountable to the general accounting office of our government?

How seperated should a hi hat be?

when i hear some people playing their hats they sound like crashes somewhat, ive tried tog et that same sound to play some songs but i cant figure out how wide the gao should be

if anyone could give me an estimate thatd be asome

thanks

:D|||Lefty is correct, there should be 1 to 2 inches gap between them. I lean more toward 2 inches for more sound options.

I posted to make a correction in his answer.

The screw under the lower hi hat cymbal is to adjust the tilt of the lower cymbal so it hits evenly with the top cymbal all the way around. The distance between cymbals is adjusted with the wing-screw on the clutch above the top cymbal. The wing screw tightens the clutch to the post at whatever hight you adjust it to.

In addition: the upper hi-hat cymbal is sandwiched between some felt and 2 nuts on the clutch. (the part that the cymbal is held to by the 2 nuts is called the clutch). The sound you get can be altered by tightening or loosening the cymbals a bit (not too much) between these to nuts, either allowing a little wobble, or none at all (tight is slightly muted).

The sound will also vary with the distance you open or close the hi-hats as you strike them. Closed gives you a "ping" sound, partially closed gives you a "sizzle" sound, and open gives you a crash cymbal sound.|||Their should be 1 inch distance or 1 1/2" Their is a little screw under the bottom one . You have to turn it so the bottom cymbal barely touches the top. This way, when you press the hi -hat pedal, it will make a muted sound more or less.

Nobody wants to go after the duplicate agencies?

The GAO reported that there is $300 billion in dublicate government agencies. This would save $3 Trillion over 10 yrs and you don't have to cut Military or Medicare or Medical. Yahoo news reported that 270,000 federal employee's will retire in 2012. You could backfill the layed off workers in the retiree positions so they is minimal impact on the people in the agencies you cut. Isn't this common sense that you have to reduce waste in government?|||It's "common sense" until you start looking into the details of which 270,000 federal employees are retiring, what skills they take with them, whether the remaining workforce has the necessary skills, whether the remaining workers are properly positioned to continue the work, and whether they would be willing to do the additional work without being offered a raise, etc.|||I agree with the basic idea that if most government agencies closed their doors forever it would be unlikely that anyone not employed by those agencies would notice.

The problem is ... NO politician wants to be linked to any act of government that could be legitimately linked to "killing" jobs. Even redundant jobs, even jobs that the government pays someone to do that serve no governmental function.

Any politician that allowed their office to be linked to such an act would be feeding ammunition to their opponents in the next election. "Senator Blowhard of NY helped pass legislation that closed 15 governmental agencies in this state. Over 500 people lost their jobs as a direct result of Senator Blowhard's efforts ... let's work together and end Senator Blowhard's job ... Elect Tom Dicknharry to the Senate ... I will not cut government jobs, and that's a promise!"

Paid for by The committee to elect Tom Dicknharry to Senate, add designed by Dewey, Cheatham and Howe political consultants.

Even if those 500 jobs were all in the "Department of Paperclip Design Approval" the statement would ring true enough to damage any politician's career, possibly end it!

How can I convert EXE files into a HTTP code?

I want to convert EXE files into HTTP. If your name is MUYANG GAO, don't post in this.|||1. Find a disassembler/decompiler, resource extractor, etc. Here's a sample, http://web.vip.hr/inga.vip/index.htm

2. Run it on your exe file and open up the resulting code with your favorite text editor

3. Go through and rename as many variables as you can into something that makes sense in English

4. Using your text editor's find/replace function, wrap different parts of the source code in different %26lt;span%26gt; tags, so that they show up in different fonts, colors, and styles. There are code beautifiers that will do this for you, here is an example http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/C-C鈥?/a>

5. If you were using a resource extractor, link all the images in %26lt;img src=""%26gt; tags, and use %26lt;embed%26gt; tags for other kinds of media

6. Add your %26lt;html%26gt;, %26lt;head%26gt;, and %26lt;body%26gt; tags to the resulting source

Now you have an html representation of an exe file :D

If you want to run the html file as if it were an exe file,

1. Write or download a command line filter program that will get rid of all the html in a file

2. Read the program into your filter, and run the result through a compiler

3. Test the resulting program, and adjust the source until it works properly. You may need the windows api reference for this, you can find it here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/鈥?/a>|||HTTP is a protocol, not a code. Even if you are talking about HTML it is not possible as an EXE is a compiled program - you can't simply convert one to the other.|||It's not possible. If people could turn EXE files into HTML, then every website you visit could be a virus!

You can link to an EXE file from HTML however. When a user clicks the link, they are prompted with a "save or run" screen:

%26lt;a href="prog.exe"%26gt;Download%26lt;/a%26gt;

If you want to embed it in your website you need the program to be written in Flash or Java.|||it is impossible to do so.

According to the GAO 1127 miles of our southern border is not with in our operational control.

How is that acceptable?

When we are at war, when the threat of terrorism is so high, how can we live with 1127 miles of poor control?

Why arent more people outraged at this?|||Because the federal government is infested with anti-American elitists whose only concern is their position of power and importing cheap labor and votes for Democrats. Screw the American people they say.|||Firstly, Most of our Southern border is so mountainous, it's impenetrable. However, we could put up an electric fence across the penetrable portion of the border for $50 million.

Second, Mexicans aren't really brown people. They're a mix of Spaniards and Native Americans.

The poorer ones who illegally cross the border tend to have more Native American heritage. The Mexicans with more Spanish heritage tend to be whiter, like their European counterparts.

Next, if an American wanted to live in Mexico, they'd have to prove they can support themselves, that they also have to be fluent in Spanish, and they have no say in how the government is run. They're not even allowed to own property. In Mexico, gambling and guns are illegal.

Lastly, I don't know why Obama doesn't lock down our Southern border. We could do it for as little as $50 million dollars. If you're outraged by our open border, contact the President, and your Senators and Representatives. Let them know how you feel.|||A lot more than that is not secured along the border with Canada.

I typically have an easier time entering other countries than entering the US, and I am an American citizen! I find that the US takes their customs and immigration way more seriously than most other countries I have been to.

The border is not really an issue in regards to the wars we are fighting. There is no evidence that the Taliban are going to be invading North America anytime soon. Similarly the border doesn't seem to be a big terror threat. Think about it - it would be far, far easier for the Taliban to send someone unknown on a plane into the US to carry out an attack than it would be for them to send an operative known to the US first to Mexico, then sneak them across the border in to the US, all the while risking detection. The fact is the border has been this unsecured for so long, yet it has not played any role in any of the terror attacks committed in the US. Nor have terror attacks in Europe been committed by people who immigrated illegally.

I'm not outraged because I think this is fear-mongering.|||If it were up to the left wing progressives, the US would have no borders, no English language, no American flag, no personal property rights and a nation without sovereignty.

Those that are outraged are busy pulling the wagon and no time to run around protesting.|||Bethy, You're right. We need a giant, impermeable fence or wall to keep the slime balls and scum out. My Mom is having another (her second) baby, and thereis a age gao of 12 years!?

This is my mom's second baby and there is 12 years between me and the new baby! I don't want to, but I feel jealous, and left out... please don't say talk about it!! Me and my mom have a close relationship, and we always talk, but we're kind of drifting apart. Help!|||My little brother is 13 years younger than me......Sure at first you might feel a little insecure because now you are no longer the baby and thats normal......Just try to let go of those feelings and spend some time bonding with your new baby brother or sister because then you'll see how proud your mom will be that you are being so unselfish......you'll still be adored......I admit my little brother was pretty funny as a baby......treat the baby good and he/she will adore you too.......embrace it okay......everyone will be happier. :-)|||Looks like they have themselves a sleep in baby sitter in you.|||i wouldn't sweat the small stuff if i were u. she needs your support now more than ever. u are not drifting apart, i think she is rightfully preoccupied with the arrival of the new baby.|||wow.

a dozen years age gap.

sounds familiar.

=]

good luck, it'll all be okay.|||First of all if your 12,you shouldnt be on this site.Anyway think about how much fun you'll have with your new baby brother or sister.|||so what the problem

dont be a little crybaby suck it up and be happy for ur mom kid

its not like she gonna forget about you babies just require more attention|||you have had 12 years of having your mom to yourself, grow up and stop being selfish..how can you be jelous of a poor little baby..its not is fault!|||think about it this way, no you wount be smothered by your mom and can do more fun things like hang out and such. thats what happened when my mom had my little bro. i was in elementary school when she had the baby, then when i got to junior high, BIG change, i was given a lot more freedom. It's not like she is going to stop loving you, thats silly. So just relax and enjoy this! babies are fun, you will love your new sibling :)|||Your mom has a lot on her mind right now. If you're 12, you'll be heading into high school in a couple of years and be busy with school, career and continuing education plans, dating, and all the fun things that go with growing up. The drifting apart is a healthy condition that helps you realize you are an independent, growing-up-emotionally adolescent, on the way to discovering who your yourself are, and what you want out of life. Exciting times for you and the family.

Learing to share and get along in a widening environment is an excellent skill. Think of the fun you'll have being big sis!|||This is one of those things that kids always find difficult to handle, and it will only get more difficult as you see how much attention your parents must pay to the new child.

I'm sorry that you don't want to hear this, but talking about it is the solution. Don't worry, they still love you just as much and you will probably adore your new sibling.|||Grow up. U will be on ur own soon anyways, might as well start detaching yourself now or u will feel much worse in the future.|||you will get to love the new baby. this is your chance to protect someone younger and give them a role model to look up to. i had a sister-in-law-who had her second child when her oldest daughter was 16. and she accepted it after the baby was born. hang in there you will be just fine. good luck.|||hey you know i was like that when my baby sister came out, i envy her cause she have all the attention and i've got nothing. but it's easy to recover cause by the time goes by you will learn to love your baby bro/sis. =)|||if you want to spend more time with your mom start helping her during her pregnancy , and show her that you are happy for her she would want u to|||My sister could tell a thing or two about this. She was 10 years old when my brother was born, and almost 17 years old when I came along.

Your mom is going to need your understanding and support. You will not drift from her if you can give her these. You will become closer in fact. It is a way for you to bond with the new sibling, and to strengthen the bond with your mom. New moms need to spend a lot of time with the newborns; you will always be her #1.|||What you feel is perfectly NORMAL! Try to think of it as a true blessing and miracle. You're going to have a little brother or sister! And when it comes, you're Mom's going to need a lot of your help. Best of all, you will love this baby very much, so look forward to it!|||My stepdaughter (my husband's daughter) is 15 years older than our daughter. She was really involved with me during my pregnancy and we did lots of things together during that time. We actually grew closer take advantage of this time now and enjoy it. Enjoy your baby sister or brother while they are young. You will be amazed at how fast they grow up.|||That's a tough one. Yep, your mom is going to have to focus on the baby a lot more than on you. You're probably used to getting all the attention, and now you're going to have to share. Worse, you're going to get less than half the attention, because babies take a ton of attention.

You *might* be able to get some attention back if you offer to help out. If you take care of the baby while mom takes care of other things, then she might continue to have more time for you -- time she wouldn't otherwise have had if she'd had to take care of the baby by herself.

Or maybe you can take care of some of the stuff around the house -- take over more of the cooking or stuff. Maybe you can do some of the adult things with your mom -- things she has to do, anyway, but you can do them with her for some quality time together.|||You should be happy to have a new sister/brother.

You will enjoy her/his companionship.

To have a brother/sister is the gift from God.

Your mom loves all her babies no matter what ages you both will become.

Don't be jealous of your own blood and flesh.

Jealousy is bad for you, only loser is a jealous type.

Be generous and you will get rewards, and you will feel good of yourself.|||Congratulations, you're perfectly normal. This is a golden opportunity to make yourself useful. Nothing brings good luck like helping others.|||hi. i have a sister who is twelve years younger then i am. when she was born, i was INSANELY jealous, because my mom was always cooing over her. she is 1 1/2 now. it has been a pleasure wathcing her grow up a little more every year. dont worry bout it. if your mom coos over the baby, do the same. the baby is your sibling, so dont be jealous like i was. enjoy this. be happy for your mom. if u feel like your drifting, say "hey mom, wanna go to a movie or lunch" or something like that, and that will bring you two closer together. despite the baby, you will always be close to your mom. you are er first baby, and you always will be. i hope you take my advice. good luck!!|||It might be because of a combination of the new baby and your age. You're growing up and will naturally start drifting away from your mom. It's a normal thing--all kids do it. Add in the fact that a lot of her attention is going to her pregnancy and then the baby, and it only makes it more pronounced.

Why don't you ask your mom if you and she could have a mother-daughter night, once a week or once every couple of weeks. Make it a no-baby time (unless you want to talk about it, have questions or concerns, etc.), so the two of you can catch up on what's going on in your life and maintain that connection that's obviously important to you.|||My sister and I are twelve years apart, I am the oldest. The age gap never bothered me because at the age of 12 I was starting to mature, and I was able to cope with my new baby sister easily. Growing up I was almost like a mother figure to my lil sis. She's now 15, and we are VERY close. My mother and her had a special relationship just like my mom and I had, but each relationship is unique, and I am not jealous. You will be fine. Take this opportunity to become a role model for your lil sis, and a best friend as well. Good luck.|||It's natural that you would feel jealous after being the center of attention for 12 years. If you change the way you look at this event, it may help you get through it. This is not something your Mom is doing to you. It happened. It was probably not planned after 12 years but it happened and it's a reality.

You're 12 and will very soon be a teen facing teen issues of having sex, birth control, unwanted pregnancy, babies being born to teenage mothers. This situation could actually be a blessing in disguise. It will teach you what a woman goes through when she's pregnant, all the body changes and the emotional changes. It will teach what it's like to actually give birth and to care for a newborn baby. By the time you're old enough to have to think about making those choices, you'll already know the answers. When your friends talk about what they think they know, you'll actually know and will be able to set the record straight.

I know you don't want to hear "talk about it" but that's my advice. I suspect it will be everyone else's advice as well because that's the only way you'll be able to deal with your feelings. You have a close relationship with your Mom. You recognize that you're starting to drift apart. That doesn't have to happen. A relationship takes work on both sides. If you don't talk to your Mom about your feelings she won't be able to help you. You will keep those feelings inside and you'll resent this new little life that's about to enter the world. Try to see this baby as a blessing who's coming here to teach you what you need to know to get through your teen years. She doesn't want to take attention away from you she wants to love you and to be loved by you. Talk to your Mom.|||it feels like your drifting but your not, your growing up your mom needs you know, if your close tell her how you feel, it will work out|||You are just thinking too much about it... If you're a grown up, it should affect u that much... If you're a teen, then yes, you may become insecure... But it'll all be fine... If i were in your shoes, i wudve been crazily waitin for the baby n would love him/her more than anyone else.. Come on, you've had ur share of attention for 12 God damn years! u should be fine with the baby coming and this isnt a reason for feeling left out...|||Try to help with the baby, whether it's watching it or feeding it. I'm sure your mom could use some help. She'll appreciate the fact that you'll want to help and when you do help it will give you some time to talk more with your mom. Also if you do help and the baby grows up you can always remind them how you always watched them or how you used to feed them. It's hard having a baby and even a younger sibling and just remember you were spoiled like that once too. After a while she'll get over it and it'll go back to the old way of life. Just with a baby.|||please grow up,

I wish I had a brother thats a baby,

well I have my nephews and I love them,|||I'm going to address this from the other side, because I'm a mom who has two children 9 years apart.

It is absolutely normal to feel left out simply by the nature of pregnancy and new babyhood. All the attention is focused on the new one, and seems like there's not a smidge left for you. And you know what? As sad as that is, it's just a natural process that the whole family will go through. But I swear to you, your mother will love you ALL THE MORE with a sibling in the house. It's almost like your heart is bursting with all this extra love floating around.

As for the drifting apart, I feel that with my older son some too. Just... ok how about asking your mom if you two can go do something special together like you used to do, just the two of you. Make sure you do something special to help her out whenever you can, just doing one little extra chore will be so special to her.

... Honey, there isn't any magical answer. And I really don't feel like I've answered yours. But know that your mom loves you, and while her attention will be focused on the new one, her heart is still yours too.|||I don't know your mom, but for whatever reason she decided to have another child. You can put a positive or negative spin on it...this child may be VERY special to you...you may be wonderful friends and siblings and have a life of love, help, support, and tenderness toward each other. You will get alot of new experiences that will teach you things. The important thing for you to know is that you're mother will always love you and this new person will not make her love you less...it may require changes and sacrifices...but i know i love my son and nothing will change that...just because she will have to use alot of her time to care for this baby. remember she did the same for you...|||your life is over!

This is a fact and anyone who says anything otherwise is lying or stupid.

Secondly, our nations annual income is over $400 billion a month, so the military budget of about 550 billion is not even close to the most expensive program we have.

Thirdly, there is no evidence, and actually evidence to the contrary, that military spending has been increased because of the wars.

When you factor in inflation, the military budget is about $5 billion less than it was in 1998.

Anybody who know anything about the military knows that during wartime, the availability of weapons systems increases a good deal because they are being used less. Being used less? Absolutely, because during a war the weapons systems mainly just sit around waiting to be deployed. They might only be used once in 8 month.

During peacetime, weapons systems are usually in disrepair for several reasons, but mainly because ever single time they are used it is simulated combat, which simulates the toughest parts of war over and over, there is no down time and patrolling like in war. They get used over and over, instead of being used for brief periods of real combat like in Iraq.

Also, there is a saying, "If you owe the bank a million bucks, you have a problem. If you owe the bank 100 million, they have a problem."

China is not going to destroy their massive investments by draggind down the US. It would be stupid, and if they are that stupid they arent ever going to become a superpower.|||They have to lend us money... we buy everything from them. They make money off of our purchases. If our economy goes down... they are coming with us.

http://www.kctv5.com/money/17166381/detail.html?rss=kan%26amp;psp=news#-|||Part of this is using statistics to make an irrelevant point.

A lot of corporations are "Sub-chapter S" corporations. These corporations do not have taxable income because their profits flow directly through to the stockholders where it is taxed on their 1040s. Others are personal service corporations (John Smith, MD Inc) that have no income because they have to pay out their income as salaries to the professional that owns them or they get taxed at a very high rate. Still others are small corporation with a few owners that are money losers or have start up deficits and haven't turned a profit yet.

If you limited the report to corporations that most people would think ought to be paying income tax, the numbers would be very different.|||Do I think it's fair that people who are smart enough to have good tax planning thus pay less tax? Yes -- heck yes.

They are not doing anything illegal. Alot of those tax advantages are as a result of creating jobs, for which people make money, and then pay tax. If corporations lost this tax advantage, they might be less likely to start companies that require skilled workers, and then where would you work?

You have 2 choices:

1. Lobby the government for tax reform

2. Form your own corporation and benefit from the tax advantages.

There are tonnes of tax advantages even for someone with a small homebased business. I pay very little tax because of how I choose to live my life. There's nothing illegal about it.

I'm not saying the tax systems is perfect -- I don't think there would be a way to have a perfect tax system. Is it fair that people that work hard in order to get a good job have to subsidize the living for those who don't work hard? Reversely, would it be fair that the rich live in an area with well-maintained roads, nicer schools and hospitals while the poor live like a 3rd world country? There's no easy way to divvy up who should pay for what. Give the government guys a break -- it's tough trying to keep an entire country happy.

|||The report, at least as presented in the media, was amazingly short on detail. Gave no indication of how many of these corporations had losses, for example. And it did mention that many of the corporations taxes (S corps and LLCs) go through the personal tax system, but didn't really explain what that meant - that the corp doesn't pay the tax, the owner does on his/her personal return - or gave any clue as to how many corps are S or LLC..
