If it were, in fact, the GAO that produced those numbers I would believe them before I would the White House or the Congress, but it wasn't.|||Not high enough, they always lowball their estimates.|||Uhm, the GAO is not the CBO...two different entities there, bud.|||What a nightmare|||It should have anyone with any brains storming the halls of Congress with torches and pitchforks.
If past history of any program is any guide, triple the numbers and you might be getting in the ball park.|||my universal health care solution.
mandate everyone has to pay for their own health care premium.
those that have no money will be covered by a VAT on society
make the health care system viable and cheaper thru competition
make the new insurance a "catastrophic loss policy only"
citizens pay the first $1,000 per year of all their own costs only.
that way the system opens up as consumers shop for cheaper dr's
if im paying out of pocket to go to the dr, im only going when i need it
and im shopping for value in dr's and pharmacies. not just going to where the insurer forces me to go,
i would leave the employer based system alone and let those on
HMO's go on as they are.
the non working and uninsured would be on the new plan.
ok, its cheaper, breeds competition, and pays for itself, makes sense doesnt it, well our brilliant ivory towere ivy league politicians wont
even consider it.|||It didn't tell me anything anyone with a second grade math education wouldn't know. Nice to have some official acknowledgment of the waste %26amp; unsustainability,
